Since staphylococcus aureus was discovered in the 1880s, it has been shown to be a potential pathogenic gram-positive bacterium, causing such infections as minor skin infections and post-operative wound infections. Also staphylococcus aureus is a major cause of nosocomial infection and is responsible for significant morbidity, mortality and an extended hospital stay. In this study, loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) was used to develop a laboratory diagnostic system for staphylococcus aureus. Which is a novel nucleic acid amplification method with high specificity, efficiency, and rapidity. Also one advantage, the only equipment needed for the amplification reaction is a regular laboratory water bath or heat block that furnishes a constant temperature of 63°C. As a result, the sensitive of the LAMP was 10-2 times higher on the detection limit for staphylococcus aureus than that of the general PCR.
