We report synthesis of Y2O3 with different doping concentration of Europium viz. 5 M% to 25 M% by co-precipitation method. The precursors were prepared using EDTA as a complex forming agent. The precursors were annealed at 800oC and 1100oC. The greater ability of EDTA anions to chelate metal cations helps to form very stable complexes. The particle size of 20-30 nm was obtained with cubic structure. The photoluminescence study shows peak at 485 nm confirms luminescence spectrum in blue region. Y2O3: Eu3+ prepared with 0.015 M% of Europium shows maximum UV absorption and photoluminescence intensity. The emission intensity of Y2O3: Eu3+ shows increases in photoluminescence properties with increase in activator concentration and after going through maximum at certain concentration it shows gradual decrease. The concentration quenching effect is observed in the synthesis of Y2O3: Eu3+ with different activator doping concentrations.
