There are many catalyst formation methods for growing carbon nanotubes on substrates such as sputtering, thermal evaporating, dipping, spin coating, spray coating and etc. In particularly, the spray method is very versatile, economical and simple. The spray method has only reported to synthesize multi-walled carbon nanotubes on substrates using monocatalysts. However in this study, the single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs) were firstly synthesized on Fe-Mo/Si substrate by using a spray method. The conditions such as spray time, concentration of the catalyst solution and spray distance are optimized for synthesizing SWCNTs. The SWCNTs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy.
