The performance of multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-based paste electrodes was examined with varying concentration of Prussian Blue (PB) mixed in the printing paste. The printing paste was composed of 1:1 ratio of MWCT and polymeric resin and 0.1 – 10 % of PB. It was observed that mass produced screen printing electrodes made of MWCNT-based paste exhibit well defined reversible electrochemical behavior for the redox couple hexacyanoferrate(III). The resultant screen printing electrodes with 1 % PB provide excellent electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide and residual chlorine. Unlike other polymer resin-based carbon paste electrodes, the PB mixed MWCNT paste electrodes exhibited well defined electrocatalytic activity without any pretreatment, suggesting the possibility of developing superior carbon electrodes for analytical applications and mass production.
