As a hydrogen storage matrix, electrospun carbon fibers were obtained though electrospinning and heat treatment. These electrospun carbon fibers were chemically activated by using KOH agent in order to get developed pore structure with high specific surface area. The relation between hydrogen storage and pore structure such as micro/meso pore volume and specific surface area was investigated by using BET and PCT apparatuses. Metal-embedding method and direct fluorination were also carried out in order to maximize the amount of hydrogen storage. We found out that hydrogen storage improved with developed pore structure. In more detail, even though the amount of hydrogen storage increased according to increment of specific surface area, micropore structure made more effective condition into carbon materials for saving hydrogen molecules. Beside from pore structure, effects of catalysts were investigated by using two catalysts: metal oxide and fluorine. Eventually, metal-carbon-fluorine (MCF) system was successfully obtained showing about 3 wt% at 100 bar and room temperature.
