The catalytic reactions of acetaldehyde(CH3CHO) were investigated on γ-Al2O3 supported bi-metallic catalysts. Aluminum, nickel and molybdenum oxides composing the mono- or bi-metallic catalysts were employed as catalytic materials. The catalytic reactions are affected by weight % and composition of metal oxides. The conversion efficiency of acetaldehyde on Al-Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst measured by temperature was higher than those on other catalysts. The oxidation reaction of acetaldehyde on Al-Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts over the temperature range of 350~400℃ showed more than 99% of efficiency. The addition of Mo oxides to Ni or Al /γ-Al2O3 catalysts showed lower efficiency on oxidation of acetaldehyde than other mixed catalysts. Physicochemical propertise of catalyst materials were characterized by using XRD, XPS, ICP-AES , FE-SEM, BET and TPR/TPO techniques.
