Biopharmaceutical companies have tried to reduce the tremendous R&D costs using IT-based drug discovery system which provide cost effective alternatives for high-cost, low-result methods. We have developed an integrated molecular environment, JDDW (Java-based Drug Discovery Wizard) to support the range of drug discovery processes from early target selection to lead identification/optimization. Major modules in JDDW are PubPassTM, IDProTM, IDPharmoTM, IDChemoTM, and IDBManageTM, which are compact but effective and user-friendly software for drug discovery. These modules in JDDW can suggest new lead compounds with improved accuracy by virtual screening on the chemical database. Once new drug candidates selected, validation also can be performed using JDDW.  Recently we add a new drug repositioning module, IDMap which provide the novel relationship between targets by using text mining and chemical structure information and thus is capable of repositioning marketed drugs. Consequently, JDDW reduces cost in R&D field and increases the efficiency of research with highly-effective IT solutions and the productivity for drug discovery together.
