Ag/poly(3,4–ethylenedioxythiophene) [PEDOT] nanocomposites were prepared by an in situ electrochemical polymerization using poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) [PVP] as a stabilizer. During the reaction, EDOT was oxidatively polymerized by AgNO3 and Ag ion was simultaneously reduced to produce Ag metal nanoparticles. Using by PVP Ag particles was well deposited on PEDOT and its size also controlled. The average size of the silver nanoparticles was increased with increasing of the molecular weight of PVP. Ag/PEDOT films were characterized using UV-vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) to confirm the formation of PEDOT and Ag particles
