Nano-SiO2/poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoro-propylene) (PVDF-HFP) gel polymer electrolytes were preparedd.using nano-SiO2 as an additive, LiClO4 as the electrolyte salt, and propylene carbonate (PC) – propylene carbonate (PC) as the plasticizer. Polymer electrolytes were prepared. by immobilizing lithium salt in EC-PC in to PVDF-HFP matrix. The composite membranes exhibited a high electrolyte uptake. Nano-SiO2of different sized were used for the preparation of the composite gel electrolytes. The surface morpholology, thermal properties and crystal structure of PAN/silica nanofibers were characterized using Fourier transform IR (FTIR) spectroscopy, wide-angle x-ray diffraction (WAXD), SEM (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The ionic conductivity was determined. by AC impedance method. The electrochem. stability was measured by linear scan voltammetry.
