The Anti-inflammatory effect of ester derivatives of quercitrin isolated from the Rhus chinensis leaf

Dried and grinded leaves of Rhus chinensis were extracted with methanol at room temperature for 7 days. The organic phase was evaporated at reduced pressure after dissolved in water and partitioned with n-hexane, ethyl ether, ethyl acetate and BuOH. Then ethyl acetate fraction was separated by using repeated column chromatography to obtained Quercitrin and afzelin as isolated quercitrin we synthesized ester derivatives. The structure of isolated compounds and synthesized compounds were confirmed through Mass spectroscopy and extensive NMR (1 H, 13C and 2D NMR) experiment. These ester derivatives showed suppressive effects on the generation of nitric oxide(NO) in murine machrophage-like RAW 264.7 cells stimulated by Lipopolysaccharide. The results suggest that compounds could inhibited the creation of nitric oxide(NO). Our compounds provide a new uncovering mechanism responsible for anti-inflammatory and antitumor effects of Rhus chinensis.
