An effective sensor (GCE/MWCNTs-Pd/PEDOP) for the determination of Hydroquinone (HQ) and it’s isomer Catechol (CA) were synthesized and compared with poly 3,4-Ethylenedioxy pyrrole (GCE/PEDOP) and Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes Palladium nanoparticle (GCE/MWCNTs-Pd) sensors. The modification could be made by simple processes on Glassy Carbon Electrode (GCE) with MWCNTs-Pd covered by PEDOP in 0.05M TBAP/MeCN solution system. A well defined peak potential evaluation (+0.05V versus Ag/AgCl) of oxidation of Hydroquinone to Quinone and electrochemical reduction back to Hydroquinone were found by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) in Phosphate Buffer Solution (PBS) at pH 7.4 (different pH-PBS comparison experiments were also carried out with concentration of 100µM and 200µM of HQ and CA). Also peak current values were increasing linearly with increasing Hydroquinone contents. Moreover, good reproducibility, excellent storage stability, wide linear range and low detection limit were determined by using Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) and amperometric responses and makes it promising candidate for determination of Hydroquinone (HQ) as sensor.
