The synthesis and characterization of catalysts based on the nanomaterial supported on carbon nanomaterial for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol was investigated. Metal(Pt, Au, Ag) nanoparticles were deposited on the surface carbon nanocolloids in the aqueous solution. The reduction of 4-nitrophnol in aqueous solution with metal(Pt, Au, Ag) nanoparticles which were embedded into carbon nanocolloids have been studied by UV-vis spectra and LC-MS. The fabricated metal(Pt, Au, Ag) nanoparticles decorated carbon nanocolloids showed better catalytic performance of 4-nitrophenol reduction than the corresponding only metal nanoparticles. Carbon nanocolloids performed as a supporter on the homogeneous dispersion of metal nanoparticles in the aqueous solution. The order of catalytic effect as the same mole concentration of the various metal(Pt, Au, Ag) nanoparticls was of the following things; Pt > Au > Ag. The nature of nanoparticles decorated carbon nanocolloids were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscopic(TEM) analysis.
