ECL Sensor for Chlorpromazine Based on Layer-by-Layer Assembled Multilayer Films of DNA and Polycation

DNA-based electrogenerated chemiluminescence sensor has been used for microanalysis of DNA-intercalative binding agent such as phenothiazine derivatives. Phenothiazine drugs can be preconcentrated onto the DNA-modified electrode due to their intercalative binding properties with DNA, and they show great increase of ECL intensities. In this study, DNA-modified electrode was fabricated based on electrostatic multilayers of DNA and PDDA(poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)). DNA can be easily immobilized on GC electrode by electrostatic layer-by-layer assembly, and this DNA-modified sensor shows good reproducibility and long-term stability. Preconcentrated chlorpromazine on DNA-modified electrode as low as 10 nM concentration were detected with its accumulation time of 1 hour. In this way, new type of DNA-modified ECL sensor based on electrostatic layer-by-layer method has been developed.
