Organophosphorus esters are used as insecticides and chemical warfare agents because of the ability of very low concentrations to inhibit the enzyme cholinesterase. There have been numerous studies of chemical and physical methods of protection against and destruction of these acutely toxic compounds.Catalysts using transition metals have been reported as an effective material for decomposition of Diisopropyl fluorophosphate(DFP), which is representative material of organophosphorus esters. We have been interested in the hydrolysis of DFP using Cu(Ⅱ)complex which has been evaluated for enhancing hydrolysis was synthesized with the diamine, aminothiol, and dithiol. During the past few decades, there have been increasing interest in solution using natural polymers as immobiliation matrixes. Chitosan has low toxicity, biocompability, hydrophilicity, and chemically inert characteristics and it contains nucleophilic functional groups such as hydroxyl and amino group. Therefore it can absorb Cu(II) and decomposite DFP. We used soluble and insoluble chitosan and synthesized complexes for studying decomposion of DFP.
