In this study, the methods of microalgae culture using the acid mine drainage (AMD) and livestock wastewaters which were serious environmental problems was investigated. In experiment, effect of iron on growth and lipid and β-carotene accumulation in microalgae were inspected. The livestock wastewater pretreated by membrane bioreactor and AMD and MBR effluent was mixed in order to Uronema sp. KGE3 and Acutodesmus obliquus KGE 25 culture. AMD 9: MBR1 effluent condition was feasibility of microalgae culture and lipid accumulation. The growth kinetics of the microalgae is modelled using logistic growth model and the model is primarily parameterized from data obtained through an experimental study where microalgae culture with ratio of AMD: MBR were 1:1, 1:9, and 1:19. Moreover, the continuous of microalgae culture in PIMR can be available. Overall, this study indicated that the use of AMD and MBR effluent are a viable method for culture microalgae and lipid accumulation.
