MgO that promoted by NaNO3 is a major absorbent in intermediate-temperature (200~500 ℃) range. This NaNO3-MgO absorbent has high CO2 absorption capacity and fast kinetics, but its cycle durability is not good. Therefore, the absorbent that shows more stable cycle durability is needed to be investigated. We plan to synthesize the absorbent with the supporting materials that have large surface area, high chemical and thermal stability. Among the various supporting materials, owing to its chemical and mechanical stability, ZrO2 is selected as a candidate of supporting material. As a results, Na2Mg(CO3)2 double carbonate is formed when the absorbents absorb CO2. Also, this absorbent shows high CO2 absorption and desorption cycle durability. But its CO2 absorption capacity is lower than that of NaNO3-MgO absorbent. Details of the data and their explanations will be presented in the poster session.
