Multifunctional magnetoplasmonic (Au–Fe x O y ) nanosuprastructures are characterized by some features of iron oxide and metals, such as surface chemistry, special optical properties, and superparamagnetic properties, which have helped to draw much attention to their optical, magnetonic, and biomedical applications. In this presentation, the state of the art of this rapidly developing field is described; different approaches to integrate the magnetic and plasmonic properties in a single nanoparticle with different morphological traits, their assemblies to be 1~3 dimensional structuring. Specific plasmonic and magneto-optical properties of magnetoplasmonic nanosuprastructures will be explained. we will also present unique physical characterization of the magnetoplasmonic nanosuprastructures and their applications in optics, sensors, and biomedical engineering, in addition to outlining the future trends and perspectives of these sophisticated nanocomposites.
