Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is representative amorphous polymer challenged in crystallization. However, our group developed the crystallization of PMMAs in PMMA and benzoic acid (BA) solution using rapid quenching method. In this study, we found that PMMA crystallization is highly dependent on not only the melting time of PMMA/BA solution but also the quenching speed. Each thermograms of the resulting PMMA in DSC exhibits unique features and some patterns in melting transition peak. The aggregation behaviors of PMMA chains are observed by using light scattering technique. Through the microscope and scattering method, structural information is gained. As a way of explain our observations, unusual crystal model is proposed. Additional methods including fabrication are done to give enhanced physical properties of this model.
