We have synthesized and characterized a series of new cadmium(II), cobalt(II), and zinc(II) complexes by the reaction of ligand LA (LA = α-methyl-N,N-bis((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)benzylamine) and LB (LB = α-methyl-N,N-bis((3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)benzylamine) with [CdBr2·4H2O], [CoCl2·6H2O] and [ZnCl2], respectively. All complexes were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, elemental analyzer. The molecular structures of these complexes were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The catalytic properties of these complexes toward the polymerization of rac-lactide (LA) in the presence of MeLi were investigated at 25 ℃.
