Two-dimensional (2D) organic-inorganic heterostructures have attracted much attention as next-generation material systems that may complement the shortcomings of each ingredient and possibly enable novel functions. Despite its importance for high-performance electronic and energy devices, however, complete structural understanding of the 2D heterostructures has yet to be achieved. In this work, we studied the vibrations of 2D pentacene-graphene heterostructures using ultra-low frequency (ULF) polarized Raman spectroscopy. 2D pentacene films grown on graphene by thermal evaporation were characterized with atomic force microscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The ULF Raman shift in 10 ~ 100 cm-1 that could be accessed with volume Bragg gratings was shown highly sensitive to intermolecular vibrations and thus useful in characterizing polytypes of 2D pentacene. The details of the ULF Raman setup and 2D heterostructures will be presented.
