Controlling the morphology of nanoparticle has significant advantages for desirable physicochemical and catalytic properties. In addition, plasmonic materials such as gold, silver, and copper are useful for imaging because plasmon resonance occurs in the visible region. Herein, we used Ag nanocubes and various morphologies of Au nanocrystals as the working electrode to produce various metallic systems through reduction, which was observed at a single-particle level. In the cysteine environment, heterogeneous deposition on Ag cubes showed {110} surface blocking depending on cysteine concentration, but as the concentration increased, {111} surface growth was prominent. The plasmon analysis of the bimetallic system is similar to that of the LSV curve in the deposition process, but with a singularity result that plasmon had already begun to change before current increased. On the other hand, a heterogeneous reaction in which Cu was deposited on Au sphere was randomly deposited on the surface and subsequently faceted on sphere. This study provided insight into the morphology control through the electrochemical reaction on the heterogeneous surface of nanoparticles and further provided a basic study to observe the catalytic role of nanoparticles at the single-particle level.
