Idebenone is a drug that was initially developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive defects. Also this drug has effect of anti aging, figure recovery, diet, prevention of heart disease and prevention of depression. This experimental purpose development of new medicine, anticonvulsant or anti cancer. Strategic design is change ester from alcohol that Idebenone functional group with esterification which called by Niche chemistry. Niche chemistry is synthesize of small size molecule and valuable, desirable bioactivities alcohol and acid, So this method is cost less and low side effect than high cost, big size molecule synthetic. We selected idebenone by bioactive alcohol and various acid. First year, we synthesized of idebenone with straight chain acid (butyric acid, nonanoic acid, lauric acid, palmitic acid, decanoic acid… etc), Second year we synthesized with branched chain acid (valproic acid, isovlaleric acid… etc) and NSAIDs (aspirin, salicylic acid, ibuprofen.. etc). We expect high effect of anticonvulsant and anti cancer of Idebenone derivation. Next step, we plan to synthesize of amino acid and idebenone, also we confirm of bioactivity with cell and animal experiments.
