We synthesized iso-reticular metal-organic frameworks with varying central metals and inspected properties related with ammonia capture application. X-ray diffraction, N2 sorption, NH3 sorption, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and ammonia temperature programed desorption were used to elucidate NH3 uptake, stability against ammonia and binding strength with ammonia. We verified that the structural stability and ammonia capacity could be significantly altered with each central metal. Among metal organic frameworks investigated for NH3 capture application, Mg-MOF displayed top ammonia uptake compared to the reported examples. Moreover, Mg-MOF showed superior stability and displayed reversible ammonia adsorption. Detailed synthesis and properties will be presented in poster.
