The low stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is a major obstacle to commercialization. Perovskite materials easily degrade into yellow PbI22 under light, moisture and thermal conditions. Interestingly, we found that thermal stability could not be sufficiently secured through encapsulation. Therefore, to alleviate the stability issue, we used composites of metal oxides and hole transporting materials (HTMs). Our HTM composites show outstanding thermal properties including cooling effects and stable morphology. Consequently, we fabricated a PSC with composites using dopant-free HTMs and monitored photovoltaic performances under the aging test (85 °C and 85% relative humidity). Notably, resultant devices with newly developed HTMs show excellent stability compared with control devices. This means our HTMs have a potential for achieving highly stable planar perovskite solar cells.
