The sprout barley and mycelium complex of medicinal mushrooms are being used as functional food materials. To know the active components of the hot water extract of these the UPLC chromatograms and exact mass were obtained and the exact mass number of each peak is compared with libraries installed in the Agilent 6200 series TOF/6500 LC-MS. The UPLC system, with its small particle size column, enables fast and effective separation of various metabolites in the samples. Thus, in this study, UPLC-QTOF/MS was applied to profile the metabolites. From theses analysis isotanshinone and maleic acid were selected as reference compounds for further quantitative analysis. Linear calibration curves were obtained for isotanshinone and maleic acid at different concentration levels. The calculated values of the calibration plots are summarized in Table 1. As shown in the table, the two reference compounds show excellent correlation coefficients. From these values it has been able to derive the calibration curve.
