The purpose of this study was to elucidate the morphologic pattern of anthaquinone derivaives via π-π interaction. A series of anthraquinone depending on the substituent effects and the length of alkyl spacer were synthesized. The structures were analyzed by various spectroscopic methods. The morphologic properties of the compounds via precipitation methods, solvents, temperature, concentrations were observed. 2-Anthraquinone derivatives easily form unique nanorods with 100-200㎚ width. The morphologic was very sensitive to condition, but the trend was not discovered yet.
