For the recovery of AChE inhibited by organophosphorus compounds, derivatives from the group of pyridinium or bispyridinium aldoximes (called oximes) are used. Their efficacy depends on their chemical structure and also type of organophosphorus inhibitor. In our work, we have focused on reactivation of AChE inhibited by DFP. We assayed in vitro 23 structurally different reactivators for their potency to reactivate human erythrocyte AChE inhibited by DFP in concentrations 0.0001 M and 0.00001 M, which are attainable in plasma within classical antidotal treatment of such intoxication in hospital. We tested commercially available AChE reactivators (pralidoxime, obidoxime, HI-6) and also some our newly developed compounds and compared their efficacy. The aim of our work was to recommend suitable reactivator for further evaluation as an antidote for intoxication by DFP, because preparation of this toxic compound is relatively simple. The best reactivation potency was achieved with trimedoxime, obidoxime and compound K027.
