Synthesized poly(urethane acrylate) oligomers from 2-mercaptoethanol (2-MEOH), alkyl acrylate (methyl, butyl, 2-ethylhexyl), 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate, 2,2’-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN, initiator) and dibutyltin dilaurate (catalyst) were identified by FT-IR, NMR, DSC, and rheometer. They were also photopolymerized by UV light for coating. Their thermal resistance, ball tack, and gel content according to chemical structure were characterized by peeling tester, ball tack tester and so on. Photopolymerized poly(urethane acrylate) oligomers can be used for UV curable coatings, inks and adhesives. UV coating have high resistance against weather, ozone, aging, frictional wear, and heat. Besides they can absorb the shock and resist rust according to the thickness of film.
