Counter electrode serves to transfer electrons from external circuit to triiodine and iodide in the redox electrolyte. The counter electrode widely used in DSSC is constructed of FTO glass substrates coated with Pt thin film. Surface treatments have an effect on Pt coated counter electrode such as surface roughness, and surface sheet resistance, so that with surface treatment improvement in the DSSC performance can be achieved. In this study, surface treatment of counter electrode was used Plasma Source Ion Implantation technique. The influence of surface treated counter electrode on the performance of DSSS was investigated. In order to modify Pt coated counter electrode, we used O2, and Ar plasma. The performance of the DSSC with surface treated Pt electrode was compared with that of untreated Pt electrode. Modified surface by surface treatment were characterized using SEM, and AFM,
