Titanium dioxide, TiO2, have been widely studied because of attractive advantages, such as nontoxic, cheap, and various applications which are photoelectrochemical solar cells, photocatalyst, and photoelectrochemical splitting of water. To increase of the absorption of visible light, the doping event of TiO2 film using various metal or nonmetal elements were tried and reported for the application of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Then, nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) doped TiO2 nanopowders were synthesized and deposited on the TCO glass. The conversion efficiency using doped TiO2 film for DSSCs was continuously decreased, compared with that of undoped TiO2 film. The degraded efficiency was explained by the degraded electron transport and the increased charge recombination, which were analyzed by the stepwise induced measurements of photocurrent and photovoltage transient (SIM-PCV).
