The chemiluminescence (CL) that accompanies during the oxidation of hydrazine salts ( i. e. hydrazine dihydrochloride and hydrazine sulphate) with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in alkaline medium has been studied elaborately. The effect of transition metal ions (Cr3+, Mn4+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+) on the redox chemiluminescence of the hydrazine salts with hydrogen peroxide was investigated. It was observed that Fe2+ inhibit the CL while Cr3+, Mn4+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2 ions tended to enhance the CL in this reaction. The spectral distribution is significantly different in the redox chemiluminescence of hydrazine salts in the presence of transition metal ions than the blank experiment.
