Electrochemically active block copolymer consisting of a tetraaniline and polyethylene glycol (PEG) block was synthesized and studied for its electrochemical properties. In cyclic voltammogram (CV), this block copolymer showed reversible redox behavior at both aqueous (1M HCl/ water) and nonaqueous system (1M LiClO4/ propylene carbonate) compare to polyaniline (PANI). The block copolymer was blended with polyaniline in 0 ~ 30% and characterized by CV and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy in 1M LiClO4/ propylene carbonate. As the ratio of block copolymer in polyaniline was increased, current density increased. A triple layer solid polymer actuator consisting of polyaniline blend (electrode) / PEG with LiClO4 (polymer electrolyte) / polyaniline (blend) was fabricated and studied about bending profile.
