As evidenced in many experimental and theoretical research results surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) can increase Raman scattering signals as high as ~1014 1. In this research, we compared Raman signals between isolated silver nanoparticle and silver nanoparticle-nanowire junction system. First, we measured the sample using Micro-Raman, and then confirmed the local structure of silver nanoparticle-nanowire by SEM. Second, the sample was measured by Near-Field Scanning Optical Microscope (NSOM) and SEM. The result shows different intensity between silver nanoparticle and nanoparticle-nanowire junction system. It is anticipated that additional enhancement from the nano particle-wire junction by far-field Raman measurement can be understood in terms of local field localization along the nanowires.
