The work describes the synthesis of mesoporous silica nanoparticles by with Cu-mediated sol-gel process. Although the natural mesoporous silica particles have the 2-3um size, the obtained mesoporous silica nanoparticles showed the 300-500 nm of particles size and 8.5 nm of inner pore-size. Nitrogen adsorption BET measurement showed the 400 ㎡g-1 and 896 ㎡g-1 of surface areas corresponding to before and after calcinations, respectively. The structural morphology of the materials was achieved by TEM, XRD, and SEM.
