We have studied the oscillation characteristics in the BZ reaction system using a catalyst with copolymer of Ru(bpy)32+/3+ monomer and crown ether. The oscillation was detected by the UV spectrometer and Pt electrode. The oscillation of turbidity in the system occurs by swelling-shrink in the copolymer because of Ru(bpy)32+/3+ monomer. In the oscillation system, we changed cation in order to observe the effect of a cation to the oscillation pattern. The oscillation of turbidity can be varied by the change of some kinds of cation since the crown ether in the catalyst copolymer catch the cation inside of the structure. We compared the characters in the 18-crown-6 and 15-crown-5. We observed crown ether size effect. This result can be applied to the membrane for the selective ion gate.
