A typical TiO2/CuInS2-based ETA-solar cell has a heterostructure containing TiO2 as n-type, CuSCN as p-type semiconductor, and CuInS2 was adopted as absorber material. The most important features of the ETA-solar cell are effective charge carrier separation within the absorber and high light absorption due to its scattering abilities. Hence, the influence of CuInS2 film thickness and the porosity are among the very important factors. MOCVD method has many practical benefits for synthesis of ETA-solar cell; especially, the composition, structure, thickness of the CuInS2 absorber can be properly controlled by adjusting the processing conditions such as substrate temperature, deposition time, and annealing time. Thus, very thin CuInS2 film is deposited onto TiO2 nanoparticles and characterized for the development of CuInS2-based ETA-solar cell.
