Aluminium oxide (Al2O3) has an excellent thermal stability and a variety of properties(? such as …). Al2O3 is an electrical insulator but has a relatively high thermal conductivity (40 W/m K). The major uses of speciality aluminium oxides are in capacitor, refractories, ceramics, polishing, and abrasive applications. We synthesized novel Al2O3 precursors, Al(dmamp)3-n(CH3)n [dmampH = 1-(dimethylamino)-2-methylpropan-2-ol]} which contain aminoalkoxide and methyl as ligands by the reaction of TMA (trimethylaluminium) with appropriate equivalents of aminoalcohol. We confirmed the designed new aluminium complexes 1H, 13C NMR, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis (EA), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The new aluminium complexes could be used to prepare a single precursor for copper aluminate because they have donor-functionalized ligands to stabilize copper cation.
