Abstract |
Self-assembly of ZnX2 (X = Cl, Br, and I) with bidentate Ligand (L) as a hemi-circular bidentate ligand containing chromophore moiety yields a systematic 46-membered metallacyclodimeric unit, [ZnX2(L)]2. These basic skeletons constitute, via interdigitated π∙∙∙π interactions in a staggered fashion, a unique ensemble forming both channels and cages. Specifically, the ensemble with channel and cage significantly stabilizes the solvate molecules. The unprecedented supramolecular structures adsorb/desorb small solvent molecules. |
