Subject Synthesis and Structural characterization of Cobalt (II) Complexes Containing N,N-Bis((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-2-morpholinoethan-1-amines

Abstract New series of Co(II) complexes, [LnCoX]Y (Ln = LA, LB, LC, LD, LE, LF; X = Cl, NO3; Y = BPh4, NO3) were synthesized by the reaction of metal starting materials such as [CoCl2] and [Co(NO3)2] with the corresponding ligands N,N-bis((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-2-morpholinoethan-1-amine (LA) and N,N-bis((3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-2-morpholinoethan-1-amine (LB) and N,N-bis((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-N-methylpropane-1,3-diamine (LC) and N,N-bis((3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-N-methylpropane-1,3-diamine (LD) and N,N-bis((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-2-(pyridin-2-yl)ethan-1-amine (LE) and N,N-bis((3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-2-morpholinoethan-1-amine (LF), in the presence of NaBPh4, respectively. Molecular structures of Co(II) complexes were 5-coordinate trigonal bipyramidal geometry around cadmium metal center. The catalytic property of Co(II) complexes toward the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of MMAO were investigated at 60 oC.
