Abstract |
We have synthesized and characterized a series of zinc(II) complexes, namely [LnZnCl2] with ligands [Ln] (Ln = LA – LD), where (LA, = N-(quinolin-2-ylmethylene)cyclopentanamine), (LB = N-(quinolin-2-ylmethylene)cyclohexanamine), (LC = N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)-2-furanmethanamine), (LD = 2,6-diethyl-N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)aniline). X-ray single crystal diffraction revealed that all Zn(II) complexes have distorted tetrahedral geometry around the zinc metal center. The catalytic activity of these complexes towards the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of MMAO were investigated at 60 ℃. Specifically, [LBZnCl2] showed the highest catalytic activity (2.81 g/molZn•h×104) for the polymerisation of methyl methacrylate (MMA) among the others. |
