Abstract Recently, thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) using both singlet (25%) and triplet (75%) excitons has attracted much interest as the most promising alternative for efficient OLEDs. In the field of OLED device processing, a solution process has been highlighted due to the simplified layer-deposition method, low-cost and large-area production unlike the well-known vacuum process. Despite these many advantages, there was a few study on the solution-process-based TADF-OLEDs. In this work, we designed and synthesized the solution-processable emitting materials for TADF-OLED device processing. The physical properties of the materials were characterized and the corresponding device characteristics such as turn-on voltage (Von), luminance (L) and external quantum efficiency (EQE) were also investigated by fabricating simple OLED devices.
