Abstract Imagination is a base of tool of creativity. When a scientific imagination combines with an artistic imagination, a 'wonderful imagination' is completed. Science Fiction (SF) is a completion of representative 'great imagination'. Science fiction is a science fiction novel, which is a science fiction genre based on scientific knowledge. The advantages of using science fiction in science education are summarized as follows. First, science fiction is a great tool to stimulate students' intellectual curiosity and creative imagination to begin scientific inquiry. Second, science fiction guides students to find the scientific principles, misconcepts, and the metaphysical issues (eg, human consciousness, individual identity, origin of the universe, the nature of space and time) underlying novel. Third, science fiction provides an opportunity to recognize the relationship between science, culture, and society. Fourth, science lessons are a great way for students to develop imagination between science and language or art. This kind of science fiction is a useful tool for students in humanities and plays a key role in science education. However, in Korea, science education using science fiction is still a rudimentary stage in practical field application or research. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to investigate a possibility of a new approach using science fiction in Korean science education.
