| Abstract |
.A new ion pair receptor in a tripodal shape was prepared for recognition of ion pairs containing the lithium cation. The receptor consists of three pyridine groups as cation binding sites linked via amides to three pyrrole groups for anion recognition. 1H NMR spectroscopic analyses and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis proved that this receptor is able to bind lithium halide ion pairs highly selectively over other akali metal salts.
