Abstract |
A new heteromultitopic ion pair receptor consisting of 1,3-alternate calix[4]arene crown-5 connected with two dipyrrolequinoxaline(DPQ) via the amide linkers was synthesized. It was proved by 1H NMR spectroscopic analyses and UV−vis spectra that this receptor is able to bind the potassium cation as well as several anions such as the fluoride and the dihydrogen phosphate anion. In this case, the potassium cation is bound to the calix[4]arene crown-5. By contrast, the anions are hydrogen bonded to the pyrrolic NH of DPQ resulting in color changes. Binding property of the receptor for specific anions and cations as well as ion pair will be presented in detail. |
