Abstract |
Two families of C3-symmetrical triarylamine-trisamides composed of alanine or glycine moieties were synthesized. Both families self-assembled in non-polar solvents via cooperative hydrogen-bonding interactions into helical supramolecular polymers as evidenced by circular dichroism and UV-vis spectroscopic measurements. The introduction of a stereocenter in the side chains biases the helical sense of the supramolecular polymers formed. Compared to compound 2 having glycine moiety, a much richer self-assembly landscape was observed. Temperature-dependent spectroscopy measurements highlight the presence of two self-assembled states of opposite handedness. In this conference, we will present the handedness of the self-assembled 1 and 2 in detail. |
