Abstract |
2,5-Dibromo-1,1-diethyl or dihexyl-3,4-diphenylsilole as a precursor is prepared by an intramolecular reductive cyclization of diethyl or dihexylbis(phenylethynyl)silanes with treatment of lithium naphthalenide and then followed by anhydrous ZnCl2 and N-bromosuccinimide. 1,1-Diethyl (or 1,1-dihexyl)-2,5-bis[(trimethylsilyl)ethynyl]-3,4-diphenylsilole were prepared by substitution reaction of two bromines with trimethylsilylacetylene(TMSA) groups using palladium chloride, copper iodide, and triphenylphosphine as catalysts in solvent of diisopropylamine. The crude product was purified by recrystallization in methanol as solvent. The prepared materials were characterized by 1H, 13C, and 29Si NMR. We also studied the electronic properties by UV-vis absorption, excitation and fluorescence emission spectroscopic methods along with electrochemical property, in particular.
