| Abstract |
A de novo approach for the stereoselective synthesis of C3-methyl branched sugars starting from non-carbohydrate precursors is reported. The signature step is represented by the Pd-catalyzed asymmetric hydroalkoxylation of allene followed by the ring-closing-metathesis. Optimization of the reaction as well as application in the synthesis of various mono- and oligo-saccharide will be introduced. |
