Abstract |
9,10-Bis(benzoxazolylthiomethyl)acridine (1) and 9,10-bis(benzothiazolylthiomethyl)acridine (2) were synthesized and investigated for sensing of metal cations, anions, and amines. Sensing abilities of these probes were investigated using UV-Vis, fluorescence, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques. Probe 1 showed a selective and sensitive response towards spermidine. The mechanism of fluorescence changes of 1 with spermidine in different solvents will be discussed based on DLS and SEM, and DFT calculation. |
