Abstract Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received great attention owing to their fascinating structural features, and their useful properties/applications. In special, the structural features of MOFs are important in defining their properties/applications. Actually, high surface area and porosity of MOFs are the most central structural features, and as such, many practical applications of MOFs originate from these structural features. Herein we demonstrate the crystallinity and porosity enhancement of poorly crystalline MOFs by constructing them in core–shell-type hybrids through the inductive growth of MOF on the surface of well-crystalline template.
