Abstract Mesoporous silica nanoparticles that have various sizes of pore diameter using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as a precursor were synthesized through cetyltriammonium chloride (CTACl) of cationic surfactant together with sodium citrate (SC) of anionic surfactant and The pore size was controlled by concentration of SC. The result materials were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Brunauer- Emmett-Teller method (BET) surface area. The pore diameter and pore volume is afford to controlled in range from 2 to 4 nm and 0.1 to 0.3 cc/g. The higher concentration of sodium citrate, the larger pore diameter and the highest BET surface area of 1897 cm2/g was observed at the medium concentration. The mesoporous pattern of XRD peak was observed to be more clear with low concentration.
